The line 6 might be better as a front end for a solid state amp, and then miced.I've never tried that.or maybe a tube.I have both I should try it, I know the J Station works fine as a pedal in front of a Crate SS keyboard amp, but blows in front of an old vibrolux, the key to the J Station is the editing software that came out just before they went under. The JD-10 is analogue, so no other effects in it. I've also got the J Station, which I like certain sounds in and an old JD-10 (Jerry Donahue) that sounds real good on single coils and is a super clean DI if you use it for that, and does far better distorted guitars than the line 6 but It blows on Humbuckers. It takes a bit to figure out, but it can be turned into about anything you can dream up, and it sounds pretty convincing to me.far better than the Uad Nigel and they are both better that the Line 6 distorted amps. I have UAD's and a Powercore with the Tubifex in it, I think it is the best emulator I've tried. I think the effects are real good, I got the Gold bundle on that same sale I think the distorted guitar amps are really buzzy sounding, but the clean amp settings are pretty fair. Wonder how much of that wasted R&D time could have gone into improving POD Farm sonically? Did I mention that most of their "interfaces" have been buggy as all hell (at least on Macs). Not to mention the fiasco when they rolled out that iPhone app at one of the Apple announcement and their app failed to work through pretty much %100 of their presentation. POD Farm 2 standalone application, Line 6 USB audio interface drivers, and the Line 6 Monkey utility.

So let's see: a version 2 with no sonic improvement whatsoever, offering some users who have about $400 dollars invested in the PODxt/Model Packs combo no real upgrade path, saying "tough shit" to a lot of customers who put up with the stupid POD-as-dongle strategy originally put forth and failing to build on the momentum of what could have been a very successful promotion by failing to offer any upgrade path at all. While the "free" POD Farm iLok license promotion was poorly implemented (and the reason many PODxt + Model Pack users were comp'd the platinum license), it would have been a very smart move, if they had provided an upgrade path to V2 or V2 Platinum (again, at a higher price point than the normal upgrade path, but lower than having to buy a new license) but they don't.

Plus, they are not offering any upgrade paths at all to those who were comped iLok Platinum licenses due to Line 6's own mistake (they are totally missing an opportunity there - they could charge more to those customers for an upgrade but less than the full license cost).
